About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to design and implement advanced algorithms for inventory optimization, forecasting, and decision support.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement inventory optimization algorithms for order quantities, safety stock, and reorder points
Build order optimization engines that balance ordering costs, holding costs, and stockout penalties
Create multi-vendor sourcing optimization with business rule constraints
Implement scenario simulation capabilities for "what-if" analysis
Design key performance metrics and analytics for inventory health assessment
Develop data enrichment processes and quality validation algorithms
Collaborate with software developers to implement mathematical models in production
Conduct experimentation and testing with business stakeholders
Requirements
Required Skills & Experience
Master's or PhD in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, or related quantitative field
Experience in supply chain optimization, inventory management, or procurement analytics
Strong expertise in mathematical optimization (linear/integer programming, stochastic optimization)
Proficiency in Python for data science and optimization
Experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model validation
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good to Have
Experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare supply chain optimization
Background in multi-echelon inventory optimization
Knowledge of vendor management and procurement processes
Experience with real-time optimization and decision support systems
Understanding of cost optimization in complex supply chains
Experience working with business stakeholders to translate requirements into mathematical models
Proficiency with Spark and Databricks for large-scale data processing.
